I am a true believer in holidays being an all year round occurrence and this year more than most I think we all need to get away for a few days away to reset and recharge. I shall be taking my own advice, and shortly myself and my husband will be spending a few days away exploring other parts of our beautiful country. There is a real bite at the edges of the days now, and whilst we are still blessed with glorious sunshine (a lot of the time), there is no escaping the forward march of Autumn. But this is a new kind of Autumn, one where there is no big picture certainty. However, here at the cottage while some things have changed there are still many things which have stayed the same, so here's a quick up date......

Waving goodbye to the summer season, the cottage is now in full prep for Winter. Autumn is currently a rather wet affair with rain, both large and small falling weekly. The good news is there is always so much to do that doesn't involve getting wet you can visit anytime! This weekend, for instance, we have The Chocolate Festival at Exeter Castle- yes, a festival celebrating all things chocolatey!!...

Devon is a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year, but I have to admit, there is something about Autumn as it transitions into winter that makes my fingers tingle.
