Summer Round Up

I always feel that the transition between Summer and Autumn begins with the blackberries you see in the hedgerows. Ripening blackberries are usually accompanied by a cool breeze in the morning and evening which serves as a reminder that colder days are coming. Time to switch from summer to winter duvets and get the chimney swept!

It has been our second summer renting out the cottage and we have once again been blessed with a full calendar and wonderful guests from all around the UK, and in fact the world! The village has been busy too. A packed schedule of  the Summer Fair, vintage cars, cider festivals and of course the obligatory cream teas all brought in visitors to our lovely part of the world.

As we head towards the darker nights pub menus will change and the smell of wood smoke will fill the air. The cottage will get ready for its annual makeover and the lights will go on. It has been a truly lovely summer.

I'll leave you with a photo of the bountiful harvest, all grown by my fair hand!
