Sugar & Spice ~ Catkin Blooms

Wonderful Winkleigh has so many amazing small businesses and in the run up to Christmas I will be shining a light on as many as possible. I can think of no better place to start than right next door to the cottage with the truly lovely Cath & Catkin Blooms.

“I’ve lived in Winkleigh for 16 years, and been a florist for 8 of those. I moved my floristry business from my workshop at home to the centre of the village last year and although it’s hard work I haven’t looked back.”

Catkin Blooms is Cath's first shop and to me it is sugar and spice and everything nice! Her shop stocks a wide variety of locally made crafts and you can find everything from candles to unusual jewellery.

“My mission is to become plastic free and I try to stock as many plastic free gifts as I can. My flowers where possible are from local and British growers thereby reducing the shops carbon footprint which is important to me.”

It’s a good mission to have Cath, and we can all do with reducing our carbon footprint too!

“My favourite place in the village is The Kings Arm’s pub, it really brings the community together. If I had one piece of advice to give it would be to really get out there and live your best life because none of us know what’s around the corner.”

Thanks so much to Cath, and here’s wishing her every success with Catkin Blooms. If you find yourself near Winkleigh please pop into this wonderful little shop- I can guarantee you won’t regret it!

Catkin Blooms is open Wednesdays to Saturdays.
